KSD food market best known for the street food, the kota Sandwich, has been a student favorite for generations. Kota is an approximation of the word “quarter of the loaf of bread that is the base of the Sandwich.
The bread is hollowed out, filled first with a layer of seasoned french fries, then topped with optional layers of sauce,cheese,egg, and meat. The multi-layered sandwich is packed into an instantly-recognizable white plastic sack.

KSD FAST FOOD is a cookout event designed to bring people together by providing Good music, Good food and great performances by different artists.
The Cookout happens every month with the intention of bringing people together with great music and food.
THE CookOut That happens on Sunday will most likely leave you with a pleasurable and unforgettable experience of good food, great people and great local entertainment.
Over the weekend, the last CookOut Sundayevent of the year took place at Dawn park at the new park.
The event is based on showcasing the talent of local chefs,artists and mixologists from East Rand and surrounding areas.
Co-founders of CookOut Sunday, Karabo Dube and Madu Dube say the journey to the success of the event wasn’t easy.
“We started in the Garage and on a sidewalk with about four food stalls and 150 people cramped into a small space,” Ramela said.
Meanwhile, Karabo said they feel blessed for the support they have received and has provided growth for the team behind the CookOut Sunday event.
